Privacy is important to those who wish to remain anonymous online, and no Pratilipi user should ever feel obligated to reveal personal information. Don’t post personal information in your profile or work.
Pratilipi will never ask its users for strictly confidential or sensitive information, such as your Aadhaar Number, nor will it send Private Messages on Pratilipi or any other platform to request this type of information. Please also note, that Pratilipi will never request users to share their credit card details outside of the Pratilipi website or app. Payment details may only be sought in connection to products or services provided on Pratilipi, and only when users initiate a request to access such services.
Please be aware of sites claiming to be affiliated with Pratilipi, asking users for this type of information. These sites or applications are not in any way connected to Pratilipi. When in doubt, always reach out to our team directly.
Some other tips include:
- You can use the block function on any Pratilipi user who requests personal information to prevent them from contacting you. For more information visit our guide on How to Block a User.
- Never give out your account password. If you feel that your account has been compromised, submit a ticket through support. Please explain the issue with as much detail as possible. One of our support staff will review the ticket and assist you directly.
- If anyone releases your personal information without your consent, contact them to have it removed. If you need additional support, report the user and provide us a direct link to where your information appears within the story by responding to this email.
Examples of Personal Information include: Phone number, address/location, image and any other personal identifiers.
Please keep in mind, due to the fictional nature of stories and the chances of real names being used coincidentally, we are unable to remove a work for having the same or similar name to a real person. Additionally, stories often draw from real life for inspiration, and sometimes they contain situations that happened in real life. Unfortunately, we cannot remove a story containing scenarios that are similar to actual events.
