Pratilipi offers free reading through a wait-and-unlock system. If you want to read a locked part in a series, you need to complete the previous unlocked part and wait until the next unlock time.

This article explains how the system works and what to do if your next free part does not unlock.

How the Daily Free Unlock Works

To unlock the next free part in a series:

1. Open the series and read the latest unlocked part completely.
2. Once you reach the last page, a timer will start on the next locked part.
3. The timer resets daily and expires at 12:00 AM.
4. When the timer reaches 00:00:00, the next part will unlock automatically.
5. You will also receive a notification confirming that your new part is available to read.

Note: The timer appears only after the previous unlocked part has been fully read.

Why Your Free Part May Not Unlock

There are a few common reasons why the next part may not unlock as expected.

1. Your Reading Progress Was Not Registered

Sometimes, due to temporary network or server issues, your reading progress may not sync correctly with our servers.

Signs of this issue:

• You finished reading the chapter.
• The unlock timer did not appear.

How to fix it:

1. Completely close the app.
2. Reopen the series.
3. Read the last unlocked part again until the final page.

If the timer still does not appear:

1. Turn Flight Mode on and then off.
2. Open the app again.
3. Re-read the last unlocked part completely.

Once your progress is successfully registered, the timer should appear.

2. The Previous Part Was Not Fully Read

The timer only starts after the previous unlocked part is read till the last page.

How to fix it:

1. Open the series.
2. Read the latest unlocked part completely.
3. Restart the app.
4. Check whether the timer appears on the next locked part.

Once the timer reaches 00:00:00, the next part will unlock automatically.

3. You Already Read Today’s Free Unlock

Sometimes users read the newly unlocked part after midnight and later expect another part to unlock on the same day.

How to check:

• Open the series page.
• Look for the timer displayed near the next locked part.

A new part will unlock only after the current timer completes.
