- Pratilipi is a platform where authors invest their time to craft compelling stories. To support these authors, a subscription model has been introduced. The subscription model helps authors gain recognition and earn income from their writing and readership on Pratilipi. Similar to accessing movies or series through online subscriptions, Pratilipi's subscription model allows access to multiple series at a nominal cost.
5. How do I subscribe to Pratilipi Premium and what are the plan options?
Subscription Steps for Android app:

B. Tap the 'Diamond' icon on the app's homepage to visit the Premium page.
C. Review available Premium plans (1/6/12 months) and pick your preferred subscription.

A. Open the Pratilipi app and visit your profile page.
B. Click on the 'Active Subscriptions' section.
- Here, you can review your active subscriptions along with their respective expiry dates. You will have the option to upgrade your subscription to six monthly or yearly from a monthly plan.
- You can also 'unsubscribe' your active plan within this section.
For IOS app:
A. Tap the 'Coin' icon on the app's homepage.
- Here, you can review your active subscription along with the expiry date. You will have the option to upgrade your subscription to six monthly or yearly from a monthly plan.
- By clicking on 'manage subscription' you will get steps for how to unsubscribe from your active plan.
8. My premium plan is active, but I'm not able to view all plans for renewal or upgrade my current plan.
- If your current subscription is active, you might not see the upgrade or renewal options matching your current plan. For example, if you're on a monthly plan, options to upgrade to a six-month or yearly plan will appear. Similarly, if you're on a six-month plan, the option for a yearly plan will be available.
- However, until your current plan expires, you won't be able to renew the same plan. Once the current plan expires, you'll have access to all available subscription options.
- That's why to enjoy a Premium experience with all the benefits without subscribing again and again, we encourage you to use the Auto-pay payment method.
9. What happens to my unlocked parts when I unsubscribe or my subscription plan expires?
- Throughout the subscription period, you'll retain access to all locked parts. However, once the subscription ends, all premium reader benefits on your account expire, and previously unlocked parts revert to a locked status.
- You can renew your subscription to regain access to locked parts and continue reading your favorite series.
- Additionally, you have the option to use coins or wait for the following day by reading the unlocked part entirely to unlock subsequent parts. Please note: unlocking locked parts can only be done one by one. You can't unlock any middle part directly; you'll need to unlock it from the latest unlocked part on your device.
10. Understanding Auto-pay in Premium.
- In the payment options, the auto-pay method allows your subscription to renew automatically when it expires, ensuring uninterrupted reading with unlocked parts and all benefits as a premium reader.
- If you prefer not to use the auto-pay feature, you can opt for an alternative payment method available for your account or choose the Auto-Pay option for the payment.
- You have the flexibility to unsubscribe your active subscription at any time, your subscription will automatically cancel after the current subscription period ends.
11. What should I do if I've purchased Pratilipi Premium but the parts remain locked?
Step 1: Check Subscription Status and Report to us
- Visit the 'Active Subscriptions' Page to verify if your subscription is active. Ensure you've received an invoice at your registered email. If the subscription is active but parts are still locked, report the issue to us. Attach a full screenshot of the invoice with the order id. We'll prioritize resolving it.

B. Scroll through the Premium section to find the option to report the issue located at the bottom.

C. Apart from the above section, you will receive Response mail on the registered mail ID with your Pratilipi account.
Step 2: Check Payment Status
- If your subscription is inactive and no invoice was received, check your payment app for transaction status. If payment was deducted but the issue persists, file a complaint in the payment app. Usually, the payment app auto-refunds within 7 working days for unsuccessful transactions.
Important Note: Refunds are not available for successful subscription purchases or auto-renew plans. However, in specific error cases, we may initiate refunds or manually activate subscriptions for your account.
12. I want to make a payment in Indian rupees, what to do?
- If you're in India, the plans are displayed in INR (Indian Rupees). Outside India, plans might be shown in dollars or the respective currency. You will have to pay with that respective currency.
- If you're in India and not able to view plans in INR: Try reinstalling the Pratilipi app, and ensure your device location is updated.
13. What is the 'Offers and Discounts' section on the 'Premium' page on Android devices?
- Coupon: This section displays available coupons for your account.
- Discount Benefits: Apply a coupon to avail extra discounts on your Premium plan.
- Availability: Coupons may have limited availability, so ensure you use them for additional savings on your subscription.
14. What is the 'Ask a friend to pay' option on the 'Premium' page? Or, if I'm not using any online payment method, what should I do? (Android devices)
- If you prefer not to use online payment methods or lack sufficient funds in your bank account, you can still enjoy all the benefits of a premium subscription.
- Select your preferred subscription plan and use the 'Ask a friend to pay' option. This feature allows you to share a payment link with friends or family via WhatsApp or any other medium.
- Once your friend or family member completes the payment process successfully through the shared link, your Premium subscription will activate within seconds. You'll also receive an invoice in your registered email.
15. Can I read the Premium series without subscribing to Pratilipi Premium?
- To access the series without limitations, we highly recommend trying out Pratilipi Premium, which offers all the benefits of a Premium. However, if you opt not to subscribe to Premium, you still have ways to unlock locked parts of the series:
A. Pratilipi Coins: Use 5 Pratilipi coins per locked part. (Find details of Pratilipi coins by clicking the 'Diamond' icon at the top of the homepage. Locate 'My coins' on the right-hand side in Android, and tap the 'Coin' icon on the app's homepage in IOS.)
B. Author-level Subscription (available for Android devices): Opt for an Author-level subscription to unlock locked parts of a specific series only. (To understand this, visit the series author profile and click 'Subscribe'.)
C. Free Reading: Completely read the latest unlocked part until the last page. Doing so unlocks the next part for free the following day, enabling you to read one part daily without charge. Note that, without reading the part completely you won't be able to unlock the next part on the following day.
16. I'm new to Pratilipi and haven't made any purchases on the platform yet. I have doubts about online payments. Is it safe, and are there any special benefits for new users?
- We understand that as a new user, you might have concerns, but don't worry! Thousands of readers are enjoying Pratilipi Premium and accessing all its benefits. You too can enjoy the same.

- If the part doesn't unlock after payment, check the transaction status on your payment app. If payment was deducted but the issue persists, take a screenshot of the transaction with the order ID and report that series from the upper right corner of the series page, mentioning the part number and explaining the problem with the screenshot. We'll prioritize resolving it.
